Powell brings over 30 years of experience working in the facilities management field across various roles. His background ranges from hands on experience working on all forms of HVAC, water treatment, power generation and other mechanical services, to senior management roles controlling the companies’ regional operations.
Prior to joining Cofely Besix Facility Management, Powell worked as Operations and Business Development Manager for three years for Serco ME in Qatar. He also previously worked as Operations Manager and Business Development Manager for MAF Dalika in Abu Dhabi for two years before being promoted to Operations Director in 2010.

His first stint in the Middle East, however, began in 1983 in Saudi Arabia, where he worked as HVAC & Mechanical supervisor for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Hospitals, and later as Mechanical Service Manager for the King Fahad Nation Guard Hospital.
“My current role entails being responsible for all operational activities within our current contracts, meeting with clients and discussing any concerns they may have and offering ideas to improve the service we offer in the region. My main goal, however, is to drive the company vision through drive, commitment, daring and cohesion by making good connections with colleagues that generate a strong spirit of teamwork,” added Powell.
Powell also has an MBA from Australian Institute of Business, and is a member of the British Institute of Facilities Management.
